Orlando to host 2012 NBA All-Star

The most magical week in sports is returning to Orlando for the second time, as the city has been selected to host 2012 all-star in the NBA, NBA Commissioner David Stern announced in a press conference today at the center of Amway.Orlando Magic President Bob Vander Weide, Magic director Alex Martins and Orlando Mayor Buddy Dyer joined Stern in the anuncio.Orlando also hosted the 1992 all-star game.

The NBA All-Star game 61st will be played on Sunday, February 26, in the Centre of Amway, which will also host the Rookie Challenge & Youth Jam and NBA All-Star Saturday Night.NBA All-Star Jam Session, the holding of successful interactive basketball, will be held at the Orange County Convention Center.

"Target main entertainment with a new, State-of-the-art scenario and a wide range of hospitality options, Orlando is an obvious and compelling choice for this celebration of our game, said Stern.""We appreciate the Magic, Orlando, and Orange County for a time the Star welcome."

Few stars games have rivaled the one that Orlando hosted in 1992 in which the West defeated the East 153-113 in Orlando Arena.The game is best remembered for the return of the Los Angeles Lakers Magic Johnson, who had retired in November 1991, after contracting the time that the final buzzer sounded VIH.En legend Johnson had come face to face with both Isiah Thomas and Michael Jordan, and became a crop performance, record 25 points and nine assists to lead the West and win his second MVP of estrellas.Golden State game recording base Tim Hardaway, who allowed Johnson to replace him in the starting lineup, contributed 14 points and 7 assists.
